WOMAN KILLED

CAR OVER BANK TWO OCCUPANTS ESCAPE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Wednesday A fatal accident occurred on the Leith Valley Road this afternoon, when a motor-car left the road and fell over a bank on to its side. Mrs Elizabeth Callender, a widow, aged 50 years, of Waitati, was found dead after the accident, but the driver of the car, Mr John A. Callander, farmer, of Waitati, and another passenger, Mr Edwin Charles Jopson, farmer, of Leith Valley, escaped with only slight injuries. While endeavouring to pass a truck the car left the road and fell on to a ledge 4ft 6in below the road level, where it was supported by native bush.
