MATANGI NOTES

SUNDAY SCHOOL EVENING The Matangi Sunday School held its annual tea and prize-giving recently in the church hall, a concert being later held. Mr J. T. Bryant, the superintendent, was in the chair, and associated with him were the Rev. G. Brown and the Rev. C. L. French. The following programme was presented:—recitations, Eunice Russell, Rolf Taplin, Doris Cargill, Clan Grant, Yvonne Hillary, lan Taplin, Eileen Beach, Thora Olsen, Rosie Dunham, Joan Thompson,, Muriel Baker, Beatrice Middlemiss, Pat Olsen and Mavis Hillary; pianoforte duet, Misses Mavis and Yvonne Hillary; pianoforte solo, Alcye Grant. CARD EVENING In aid of the Red Cross funds a card evening was held recently in the Matangi Hall. A progressive five hundred tournament was played and won by Mrs Olsen and Mrs W. Wright, who also won the competition. Consolation rrizes went to Mrs S. McMillan and Mr T. Shaw.
