EUREKA FUNCTION

EXCELLENT PROGRAMME An enjoyable afternoon was spent at the Eureka School recently when the mothers and friends were the guests of the teachers and pupils. The children presented an excellent and varied programme following which Mrs Harington, chairman of the school committee, extended thanks to the head-teacher, Miss Shaw, and her assistant, Miss Archibald, and congratulated them on their successful year’s work. Mrs Harington then presented the certificates and prizes. The pupils made presentations to their teachers who briefly returned thanks. Afternoon tea was then served by the teachers who were assisted by the senior girls. Before dispersing, the visitors were given the opportunity of viewing a display of school work including some very fine pieces of woodwork and poker-work. * Those present were: Mesdames C. Harington, A. Johns, B. Larsen, Ross Hinton, L. Masters, J. Olsen, J. Muir, A. McClennan, C. Masters, J. R. Hooper, W. Edwards, R. Inglis, L. Hinton, J. Young, D. Hinton, D. Campbell, K. Inglis, E.
