NATIONAL CLUB

JOLLY CHRISTMAS PARTY A jolly Christmas party was held by the National Club, recently, for the children of members, when a very merry time was spent by the large number of small guests. Christmas bells, balloons, streamers and a large plentifully-bedecked Christmas tree imparted the appropriate air to the function, and the joint efforts of Mr ft Braithwaite, Mr G. M. K. Hagen and Mr Thomas in the organising of games and competitions met with great success. The role of Santa Claus was capably taken by Mr A. W. Moore. The winners of the competitions and those contributing items were:— Dorothy and Barbara Moore, F. Chalken, Jean Livingstone, Eddie Smith, Nancy Howell, Margaret Thomas, Diane Rhodes, lan McMullin, Lorna Bridges, Roger Brown and Elaine Meldrum.. The evening was concluded by a movie show by Mr Blackie, which was heartily enjoyed by the children. The hostess for the party was Mrs A H. Franks assisted by the following committee:—Mesdames H. Finlayson, J. Courtney, Duxfield (Ngaruawahia), J. E. Barker, A. P. Speedy, A. W. Moore and Miss D. Eyre.
