COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
FOR MISS DORIS DOWNES A delightful party was held at the Centreway Rooms on Saturday evening by Mr and Mrs A. G. Downes, of Hardley Street,' in honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter, Doris. The evening was spent in dancing and an entertainment was given by Mr R. Harris, which was much enjoyed. The supper tables were prettily decorated with lupins and sweet peas in shades to tone with the guest-of-honour’s frock. Mrs Downes received the guests wearing a graceful gown of royalblue patterned net and Miss Doris Downes wore ivory ninon patterned in shades of pink and mauve. Among those present were:—Mesdames C.
