RED CROSS SOCIETY
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES The final meeting for the year of the Huntly sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society was held in the Presbyterian Sunday School Hall, when there was a good attendance of members. The president, Mrs W. C. E. George, presided. After the business, which was brief, had been dealt with, a social evening was held. A play entitled “Amazons on Broadway” was presented and was thoroughly enjoyed. The play was wellacted, those taking part being Mrs E. B. Dean (Georgina), Misses K. Caldwell (Mary), C. O. Holmes (Lucille), K. Salter (Hellcat Hetty), D. Gibb (Laura), J. Shaw (Queenie), M. Rumney (Sadie), E. Cooper (Cleo). Supper was served, after which
Christmas parcels were got ready for despatch to local men in Papakure and Hopu Hopu camps.
