CONVENT SCHOOL
ST. JOSEPH’S, TE AROHA CHILDREN ENTERTAIN (Special to Times) TE AROHA. Friday. The pupils or St. Joseph’s Convent School gave a successful concert last night, when the standard or entertainment was consistently High. The programme was divided into two sections, the Ilrst being made up of items given by the younger children. The second part was an operetta. “The Egyptian Princess,” presented by the senior pupils. This was excellently produced and the singing was rnuen appreciated by the audience. During the evening the Rev. Father Murphy presented medals and certiilcates xvon during the year to the following pupils:— Hold medal 1938 and 19391, licentiate, T.C.L. diploma: Bonny Billing. Gold medal (1 939', 1..T.C.L. diploma. Marion McNeil. silver medal-, highest marks in T.C.L. practical examination (1938, 1939): Donald MeConnachie. Joan Fitzgerald. Diplomas, Associate. T.C.L.: Mary Sharkey, Beverley Stubbs. Commercial certificates.—Public Service shorthand typist: Senior, Mollie Sheehan; junior, Joan O’Grady. Pitman's shorthand speed certificates: 120 words, Norma Hollis, Valine Shanley; 90 worcL, Colleen Certdo, Joan O’Grady
