IRISH PROBLEMS
MR de VALERA’S VIEWS DESIRE FOR SETTLEMENT TRANSFER OF LOYALISTS United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) DUBLIN, Dec. 14 Mr de Valera has been re-elected President of the Fianna Fail. Addressing the annual Convention, he said:— “The last war will be small compared with the present one. The Irish would pray for a quick settlement, but it is difficult, even with the best goodwill, to indicate the method by which it could be effected. “All the nations might exert themselves to try to settle the conflict by conference, but it is most difficult to prevent each nation from using the threat of strength. “I wish I could speak on behalf of all Ireland. The force being used against the unification of the Irish should not forget it. A solution of the problem could be found by transferring British loyalists from Ulster to Britain.”
