ITEMS FROM HOLLYWOOD
John Loder, the English actor, returns to Hollywood to play with Isa Aliranda and George Brent in “Diamonds are Dangerous” for Paramount. Loder appeared in “The Doctor's Secret” in 1928. Bet-te Davis is to be teamed with John Garfield in “We Shall Meet Again,” a story with a Honolulu background. Una O’Connor, the English actress, returns to Hollywood for a part in “We Arc*v Not Alone,” with Paul Aluni, Dolly Haas and Flora Robson. James Hilton is writing the screen play about the Bronte family for which Bette Davis, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Olivia de Havilland, George Brent and Jeffrey Lynn have been cast.
Universal are trying to take over the “Dead End Kids.” When the Kids were dropped by Warners, Universal decided to drop their own “Little Tough Guys” in favour of the original gang.
