CAROL CONCERT

EXHIBITION FEATURE More than 400 voices will sing in the great combined choir which will give a carol concert on December 20 at the Centennial Exhibition. It will be conducted by Mr Stanley Oliver, Wellington, and the Port Nicholson Band will accompany the choir in all the items. The recital has been planned with the idea of encouraging the public to join in the singing of the carols, so that the performance will be largely in the nature of a community sing. Four major choruses from “The Messiah” will be a feature of the choir’s performance, “And the Glory of the Lord,” “All We Like Sheep Have Gone Astray,” “Worthy is the Lamb” and “The Hallelujah Chorus.” The carol section of the programme will include the following numbers “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “While

Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night,” “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” “Christians Awake,” “Sleep, Holy Babe” and “The First Noel.”
