BISHOP PRESENTS PRIZES

SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS SOUTHWELL SCHOOL BREAK-UP The value of the examination 'rystem was stressed by the Bishop of Waikato, the Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, when speaking at the annual break-up ceremony of the Southwell School yesterday. He could not agree, he said, that it had been a good thing to dispense with the proficiency and junior national scholarship examinations and he thought it an utter and complete mistake to adopt a similar course in regard to the matriculation examination.

Bishop Cherrington congratulated the school and the staff on a successful year’s work. He then presented the prizes which were awarded as follows: I Primer I: B. Hall. Primer IV: R. Tansey.
