DEBTS NOT PAID
NEGLECTFUL GOLFERS SUPPLIES FROM PROFESSIONAL CRITICISM BY PRESIDENT Members of the Hamilton Golf Club have been causing considerable inconvenience to the club’s professional during the season by failing to honour their debts. The matter was commented upon by the president of the club, Mr S. L. Paterson, at the annual meeting last night, when he criticised the neglect of the members. Mr Paterson said it had come to the notice of the committee, although not through any complaint from the club’s professional, Mr G. W. Melvin, that he was experiencing some difficulty with his stocks. Many members of the club were not keeping the«r accounts paid, with the result that the professional could not finance his stock purchases. Therefore the amount of stock desired was not kept in the golf shop at the links. Through the action of the neglectful members, the club as a whole suffered, Mr Paterson added. “If members do not honour their obligations,” concluded Mr Paterson, “the position of the professional becomes very difficult.”
