WEDDING
SADD—HARRIS SATIN TAFFETA FROCK The marriage was solemnised at All Saint’s Church, Matamata, on the morning of Saturday, December 2, between Edna Viola, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. P. Harris, Hinuera, and Francis Arthur, only son of Mr and Mrs F. T. Sadd, Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. F. W. Oulds, and Mr P. Ingham presided at the organ. The church had been charmingly arranged by friends of the bride, with roses and sweet peas. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming frock of off-white satin taffeta cut on classical lines, and featuring a high waist and neckline and a full flared skirt. Her tulle veil was held in place with a topknot of Marguerite daisies and was worn over the face when entering the church. She carried a shower bouquet of roses, lilies and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Meryl Hawke and Miss Mona Molesworth, wore frocks of mauve and green georgette over taffeta. They were similarly designed with high waistlines, full puffed sleeves and flared skirts. Shoulder length tulle veils were worn on their heads and they carried posies of sweet peas, carnations and asparagus fern. Mr Phil Hawke, of Hinuera, attended the bridegroom as best man and Mr Tony Edwards, of Hamilton, wa? groomsman The Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was held ixx the Rialto Dining Rooms, whece the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of navy embroidered crepe sheer with a three-quarter length coat. Her navy felt hat was fuchsia trimmed and she wore a shoulder spray to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore floral crepe romaine with a navy hat and accessories. She wore a shoulder spray to tone. The bride travelled in a black wool georgette suit with paisley relief Her hat of Leghorn straw was trimmed to tone, and her accessories were white. They will make their home in Hamilton.
