HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES MUCH INTEREST SHOWN The seating capacity of the assembly hall of the Hamilton High School was heavily taxed yesterday morning on the occasion of the annual prize-giving ceremony. Much interest is evinced in this function every year and the large attendance of parents and friends testified to the continuance of this interest. The presentation of the prizes was performed by a member of the board of very many years standing, Dr.' Hugh Douglas. Seated on the stage with the headmaster, Mr H. D. Tait, and Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid, chairman of the Board of Governors, were Mrs Tait, Mrs Mac Diarmid, Mrs Douglas, Mrs A. P. Nelson, representing the Old Girls’ Association and the following members of the staff:—Miss C. Hogg, Miss B. M. S. Campbell, Miss A. M. Strong, Miss N. M. Dickie, Miss M. J. Riley, Miss P. W. Woodroffe, Miss C. N. Hartill, Miss A. V. Armstrong, Miss Ida Carey, Miss J. E. McNicol. A profusion of beautiful flowers is usually associated with High School functions and this year the artistic arrangements of summer blooms were exceptionally lovely, pedestal bowls of delphiniums and gladioli being in evidence everywhere. Mrs Tait was wearing a smart ensemble of navy blue crepe mignon with white relief and a matching straw hat.
