REQUEST DECLINED

TYPEWRITERS FOR ARMY SCHOOL BOARD’S DECISION “I do not see why we should make the children suffer any more than can be helped,” said Mr C. Nisbet, chairman of the Hamilton Technical High School Board of Managers, at a meeting last night, when a letter was received from the Army Department asking if the school could make typewriters available to the department. Mr Nisbet contended that the machines could be supplied only to •the detriment of pupils. It was decided to advise the department that the school had no typewriters available. Also present at the meeting were Mrs S. B. Sims and Messrs A. H. Davies, S. B. Sims, B. H. Andrews, F. A. Snell and W. Fraser (secretaryprincipal).
