NO COMPROMISE
OPINION IN AUSTRALIA GREATNESS OF STRUGGLE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 8 In a luncheon address to-day, the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, said the two months of “peace” since the war began had been worth untold gold to Britain and the Dominions, who had been permitted to gather and concentrate their strength. “The enemy has given us two uninterrupted months to complete our defences,” said Mr Menzies. “I do not know why, but only an optimist believes this sort of thing will go on indefinitely. “I have no doubt this war is going to be the greatest struggle in the history of the British peoples. There will be no compromise. There can be none.”
