Attlee, formally outlined Labour’s peace aims in a speech to Labour Members of the House of Commons. He said they were as follows: An undictated peace. Recognition of the right of all nations, of whatever colour or creed, to develop their own characteristic civilisation. The outlawing of war. Protection of the rights of minorities by an international body with authority over individual States. The abandonment of imperialism. And possibly, an extension of the mandate system.
