FRANKTON CATTLE FAIR Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., report that an overflow yarding of station cattle was ollered to a very small attendance of buyers at Frankton yesterday. Bidding was slow throughout the sale but a fairly good clearance was made. For grown cattle tbe demand was good and for Jersey heifers there was a strong inquiry, but for young station cattle there was very little bidding. Quotations. —On account or Mrs E. A. Hall, a good line of yearling Jersey heifers sold at £5 7s 6d to £6 12s; other topI quality yearling heifers, £4 17s to £5 ss; smaller, £3 10s to £4 2s 6d; Shorthorn yearling heifers from Mr A. C. Mellsop, £3 10s; grown Holstein bullocks on account or Mr R. Holmes, £8 15s 3-year-old Polled Angus steers frt>m Te Kulti averaged £8 2s 6d; other 3-year-old steers, £; to £7 15s; 2-year steers, well bred, £5 5s to £5 15s; others, £4 to £4 SS; yearling Polled Angus steers, £2 12s 6d to £3 15s; empty Polled Angus cows, store condition, £i; very poor Polled Angus COWS, £2 Ss to £2 12s; yearling Polled Angus heifers, £2 12s to £3 3s; yearling llerefords. £2 12s 6<L SALE AT ARIA Newton King, Limited, report that at their Aria sale held on Monday an offering of some 1300 ewe and wether hoggets came forward and met with a ready sale from a large bench of buyers. Mr Gerald Webster’s annual draft of shorn ewe hoggets realised 26s 7d and Mr A. J. Keighley’s consignment brought 26s 2d. Shorn wether hoggets sold from 13s 6d to 15s with 4-tooth wethers selling from 16s to 19s. Ewes and lambs realised from 10s to 11s 6d, all counted. An offering of mixed cattle met • somewhat of a hard sale, nearly ! all however being disposed of at values slightly easier than recent rates.
