A FRIEND OF HITLER

UNITY MITFORD IN GERMANY SERIOUS ILLNESS REPORTED (Times Air Mail Service) LONDON, October 20 Miss Unity Mitford, daughter of Lord Redesdale and friend of Hitler, is seriously ill in Germany, states the Daily Express. She has not written home since the war began. A week ago her mother had the first news in a letter from a Hungarian friend, Count Janos Almassi. Count Janos said that Unity was “very ill” in Munich, and had been taken to a hospital. It was thought she would have to have an operation. He did not say what was the matter with her. A member of the family wired immediately to Hungary asked for further news. Two days ago a reply came that there was “substantial improvement,” and the operation might not be necessary after aIL I understand, however, that Miss Mitford is still in hospital.
