FIVE FURLONGS IN 1.2 1-5 FULL HAND FIT (By Telegraph.—Special to Times A AUCKLAND, Thursday The inside grass, on Avhich the poles Avere out 12ft., and the plough track Avere lu excellent order for fast work at Takanint this morning and some interesting gallops Avere recorded, the best being those or Glen Connell. Bronwen, Full Hand, Milahton and Vaalsstar. ' Orelto and Arvakur worked over a round, sprinting home the last three furlongs in 3 6 4-ss. Both worked attractively, particularly Orelio. Sunola and Proud Fox covered six furlongs in 1.18 3-5, the first three in 37 3-ss. Both worked well and could have done better. The Dozer and Anion ran five furlongs In 1.3 3-5, The Dozer working particularly well. Cornish was three lengths In front or Tahiti over six furlongs in 1.16 3-5, tbe last three in 36 3-ss. Valamito and Yaalso ran seven Turlongs in 1.30. the first hair-inile in 49 3-SS. Vaalso, on the outside, appeared to be doing the better. Glen Connell again set the main by running five furlongs in 1.2. He has been working exceptionally well. Hot Box and Brazilian ran six furlongs in 1.18 2-5, the last three furlongs in 40 l -sa. Brazilian finished just in front but Hot Box worked a little better than usual. Lovaals was sent half-a-mile, tbe last three furlongs taking 38 2-ss. Full Hand got a couple or lengths tbe better or the start with Gladynev at the seven furlong post and finished three lengths ahead in 1.29. This was an excellent effort and Full Hand appears to be definitely at his best again. Mllanion, Plueron and Vaalsstar were in that order at the finish of six furlongs in 1.15 3-5, the last three taking 3 9 3-ss. vaalsstar, who got a couple of lengths the worst or the start, was tailed off early but was not bustled, finishing within a length of his companions. Birthday Boy was allowed to howl along over an easy round, running the last five furlongs in 1.9. Tellsoin ran hair-a-mile in 54 3-ss, Hunting Bee (Bartle) and Dolly Daydream (Kingi) running tne last Tour furlongs of their work in 5 4s. Kentucky and Estro took 51s for half-a-mile, finishing together. Both bear an improved appearance. Lapidarian Over Seven Lapidarian ran seven furlongs in 1.3 3 3-5, tbe last three in 41 3-ss. He gave tbe impression he could have done better. Queen City was not asked for her best over three furlongs in 41 3-ss. Grandora was going comfortably alongside King Louis at the finish of half-a-mile In 50 3-bs. Grandora’s effort was very encouraging and he appeared as though he could have done a good deal better. Bronwen and Miss Valerie were sent five Turlongs and, after the latter bad been steadied, they ran together Tor a few furlongs but Bronwen finished two lengths ahead in 1.2 1-5. Both worked well. On the plough Valimeen was not asked to do her best over live furlongs which took 1.11. Tip Toes ran seven furlongs easily in 1.37. Flood Tide, Inquisitor, Kla Ora, Gamos, Paddy the Rip, Princess Yal and High Sea did serviceable work on this track. New Radio Station Regarding the proposal of the Government to erect a new radio station in Auckland at a cost of £70,000, exclusive of the value of the land, it is averred that although ventilation of the present building is not satisfactory, expert opinion is that the problem could be solved by the expenditure of a few hundred pounds. Other considerations, it is stated, have really determined the decision to erect a special building for the department, which, if it desired, could lease other more suitable premises
