BAPTIST CHURCH

BUILDING ARRANGEMENTS REPORT TO ANNUAL MEETING Plans for the erection of a gallery in the church were outlined in the report of the Hamilton Baptist Church, presented to the annual meeting. It was expected that building operations would commence shortly. The construction of the gallery would overcome the congestion in the Sunday School and provide extra seating accommodation for 160 persons. Recently a new organ was purchased for the church, the sum of £SOO being contributed voluntarily toward its cost. The membership of the church on August 31 was 288, consisting of 227 resident and 61 non-resident members. The total represented an increase of 25 on the previous year. Income during the year amounted to £I9OO 5s Id, of which £847 7s 9d was contributed to home and foreign missions. The credit balance was £lB3 6s 3d.

The following officers were elected: Messrs B. Jones, B. Burson, C. C. Parry, J. Wilson, S. Crawford and J. F. Wanhill. These six members together with the pastor, the Rev. G. C. Reav, two elders, Messrs E. A. Woodward and R. Dunipace, the secretary, Mr R. Brownless, the treasurer, Mr G. E. Burt, and the Sunday-school superintendent, Mr J. Enwright, will comprise the Diaconate.
