MORRINSVILLE NOTES

BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED Miss G. Nicholls was the guest-of-honour at a bathroom evening at the home of Mrs J. L. Arndt, Morrinsville recently'. A happy evening was spent playing bridge and mah jongg. After supper Miss R. McKay asked Miss Nicholls to accept the numerous gifts and wished her every happiness. Miss Nicholls suitably replied. Those present were: Mesdames J. L. Arndt. G. Barlow, I J Milburn. Misses G. Nicholls, N. Arndt. F. Hawkens, P. Mueller, D. Arndt. L. Clark, G. Strevens, H. Arndt, E. Howard, L. Strevens, A. Crooks, M. Mockett (Nelson), M. Ferguson, R. McKay, G. Arndt.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE

The annual “ bring and buy” took place in the Convent schoolroom. Morrinsville, recently, and was an outstanding success. The rooms were beautifully decorated with flowers and streamers of blue and white. A splendid programme was presented, the first item being a humorous play. Those taking part were Mrs S. Bain and Misses E. Strevens, W. Munro, N. Ryan, C. Winstanley, L. Strevens. and B. Cranston. Items by the choir were much enjoyed, and the concluding item was a dialogue by Miss M. Strevens and Miss J. Mullins The winners of the various competitions were as follows: Mrs B. Bain, Miss M. Strevens, Mrs Buckley, Father O’Dohertv
