INTER-CLUB MATCHES SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION The Hamilton Suburban Lawn Tennis Association’s inter-club competitions were commenced on Saturday, when fine weather conditions prevailed. In the A grade, Hamilton, a new team to the competition, had a convincing win over St. Peter’s, and St. Mary’s, last year’s winning club, had a big margin over Ruakura. Results were as follows: A Grade Railway beat Rototuna by 13 sets to 11. Hamilton beat St. Peter’s by 17 sets to 5. St. Mary’s beat Ruakura by 16 sets to 7. Intermediate Grade Hamilton East beat Railway by 14 sets to 9. Knox beat Ruakura by 19 sets to 4. Power Board beat Baptist by 13 sets to 5. St. Peter’s beat St. Mary’s by 17 sets to 7. NGARUAWAHIA CLUB HUNTLY TEAM DEFEATED (Special to Times) NGARUAWAHIA, Tuesday There were some very close sets on Saturday when Huntly .No. 2 met Ng-arua-wahia on the Ng-aruawahla courts In the first round or the senior competition. Ng-aruavvahia won by 9 sets to 7. 'Results, Ngaruawahia names mentioned flrst, were as follows: Men’s singles: Menzies beat Powell, 9— B; Hill beat Ruston, 9—2; Abbott beat T. Tbomas, 9—l; McCarthy beat W. Ruston, 9— 6. Men’s doubles: Menzies and Abbott beat Huston and Ruston, 9—3; Hill and McCarthy lost to Powell and Thomas, B —9. Women’s singles: Miss Wilson 7 beat Miss Urecnwell, 7—G; Mrs Moir beat Miss Knapper, 7—3; Mrs Hunter lost to Mrs Berry, I —7; Mrs Garry lost to Miss Kasoof, 3—7. Women's doubles: Miss Wilson and Mrs Moir lost to Misses Ureei well and Knapper, ■i—7; Mesdarnes Hunter and Garry lost toMrs Berry and Miss Kasoof, 3—7.
