SOME CHARMING PLAYERS j INTEREST IN NEW ZEALAND. The charming women of the “Charley’s Aunt ” company are very happy to be in New Zealand. Already they i have found the country delightful, ! and are looking forward to the rest of the tour with interest. They travel by car, so are able to visit any points of interest on the way. After leaving Hamilton they will have a look at Waitomo Caves, of which they say they have heard much. Miss Shirley Ann Richards is making her first tour of New Zealand since she was here at the age of one year. She has appeared in several films, including “ Tall Timbers,” “ Lovers and Luggers,” “ Dad and Dave Come to Town,” and (just recently), the film starring Will Mahoney, the well-known comedian. Miss Mary Duncan occupies a rather unusual position, for besides playing leading parts she is stage manager of the company. She and Misses Alathea Siddons and Leal 1 Douglas were last in New Zealand with “ The Women ” company, and say that they have such pleasant memories of the Dominion on that I tour that they are eager to see more of it on this occasion. “ The scenerj is so varied,” they said, “ that it is j >. constant delight.” Then there are Miss Masie Wallace, last here with the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, and Miss Oda Larsen, who in private life is Mrs Nicol, wife of the popular leading comedian of the company.
