LIFTING OF ARMS EMBARGO CRITICISM OF UNITED STATES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlgnn LONDON, Nov. 4 Full expression to Germany’s anger over the lifting of the arms embargo was given by the Berlin wireless this morning. In the broadcast it was alleged that the action of the United States was “nothing but the machinations of Jewish war profiteers.” The Nazi newspapers attack the United States, which is charged with wanting to draw’ profits from the war without sharing its risks. Welcomed By Small Nations The Yugoslav newspapers state that that the lifting of the embargo is welcomed by the small nations of Europe, which have been living in fear and anxiety for years. The Rumanian newspapers welcome the lifting of the embargo as the death blow to Germany. The Hungarian press views the lifting of the embargo as an outright alliance between the United States and the democracies. French opinion is summed up in the statement that “the lifting of the arms embargo is also the lifting of American shields against the barbarism of Hitler.
