HUGE OUTPUT

1000 PLANES A MONTH BIG ALLIED PURCHASES £2,000,000,000 DOLLARS WORTH (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 4 The repeal of the arms embargo has released at least 170,000,000 dol* lars’ worth of aeroplanes ordered by France and Britain, says the New York Times. The industry is geared for a production of 1000 aeroplanes a month, and it is expected to increase that capacity by 50 per cent. Neutral countries are competing for a share of the output, including Finland, Belgium, Holland and Sweden. The Government is preventing interference with national defence, and the Navy has requisitioned aeroplane motors built for a foreign Government. The Washington correspondent of the United Press says Britain and France are ordering 500,000,000 dollar’s worth of war supplies immediately. It is reliably estimated that Allied purchases will total 2,000,000,000 dollars in the next eight or ten months. The combined assets of the Allies in the United States are reported to total 4,500,0000,000 dollars, of which 1,300,000,000 dollars are in cash.
