SOCIAL NOTES
Mrs Alan Smalley, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Takapuna, Auckland. Mrs M. A. Hodgson, who has been spending a short holiday in Te Aroha, has returned home. Mrs M. Fitzgerald, New Plymouth, is spending a holiday in Hamilton. Mrs Douglas Rathbone, Waingaro, is visiting her mother, Mrs R. C. Rainger, Remuera, Auckland. Mrs H. C. Tod, Cambridge, is spending a short holiday at Devonport, Auckland. Mrs Noel Adams, of Auckland, Dominion president of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, is in Palmerston North. She will stay at “Kainga Moe,” the division rest home at Awapuni, where she will meet the board of management. The initial effort of the South Auckland Rugby League Ladies’ Committee was most successful, the Huntly Hall being filled with dancers and card players recently. Mr George Beadle, one of the “Kiwis” was welcomed back to New Zealand by Mr H. Jakeman, chairman of the League and a life membership badge was presented to Mr T. Bailey.
