CANADA’S NAVY
MAINTAINS HIGH TRADITIONS RECORD VOYAGE COMPLETED (omcial Wireless) (Received Nov. 4, 3.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Nov. 3 The Canadian Department of National Defence announced the arrival in Eastern Canadian waters of two destroyers from their base at Esquimau, in British Columbia. These vessels have completed what is probably a record passage for a 7000-mile voyage. On two hours’ notice the two ships of war set out under orders to proceed to the Atlantic seaboard, and in spite of one day’s delay in making the transit of the Panama Canal and of other halts en route they covered the distance in fourteen days. This voyage indicates that Canada’s Navy is maintaining the high traditions of His Majesty’s naval service in preparedness and efficiency. MR WINSTON CHURCHILL VISIT TO FRANCE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. CopyrigM) (Received Nov. 4, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 3 The Admiralty announces that Mr Winston Churchill arrived in Paris on Thursday to confer with M. Campinchi on the Allied naval dispositions.
