POPE’S ENCYCLICAL

MORE ABUSES REPORTED PERSECUTION OF CATHOLICS AUTHORITIES WARN PRIESTS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Nov. 4, 11 a.m.) ROME, Nov. 3 The Apostolic Nuncio at Berlin is reporting to the Holy See that the persecution of Catholics in German territory increased after the Pope's Encyclical. It is understood that the report alleges that members of the Hitler Youth entered churches in the Osnobruck diocese, and chased the faithful out of them. They attacked and beat the Catholics as they were emerging from the churches in the St. Polten diocese. The authorities at Rottenburg warned the priests not to discuss the Encyclical from their pulpits and not to distribute copies.
