SOCIAL AFTERNOON
PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ GUILD The Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild and Presbyterian Women’s Mothers’ Union held a combined social afternoon at the Presbyterian manse grounds recently. Beautiful weathpr prevailed and the gardens were much admired. Games and competitions were enjoyed and a sales table provided did brisk business. After afternoon tea the Rev. Shilton thanked the organisers of the 1 unction and the visitors for their cooperation and attendance. Mrs A. Maunder thanked the Rev. and Mrs Shilton, the Ladies’ Guild and Presbyterian Women’s Mothers’ Union for the invitation. Mesdames Shilton and Eyre were in charge of the competitions, and Mesdames G. McGhie and J. G. Sutherland ran the sales table. Competitions resulted as follows:—Clock golf. Mrs L. Eyre 1, Mrs H. Thomson 2; hidden number, Mrs E. Raine. Orakau. Among those present were:—Mesdames Shilton, Eyre, Nicholas. McDonald, H. Kay, E. Raine, G. McGhie, W. McGhie, C. Lees, H. Thomson, A. Maunder, Davis, Howie, Selby, McMae, Hawkins, Sutherland, T. Ngaino, Glassey, Anderson. Misses McDonald, Syne, I. Temple
