FOUR RECORDS
YOUNG ATHLETES HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL CLIFFORD SENIOR CHAMPION Four records were broken at the annual boys’ sports of the Hamilton High School, the concluding events ol which were held in the school grounds yesterday, when the track was in fine order and the weather conditions good. After his great record run of lm 59 2-5 s in the 880 yards senior championship earlier in the week, D. A. Dreyer was again in form to clock 2m 5 3-5 s in the 880 yards open handicap, 3 3-5 s bettei than the previous record. In the mile, Dreyer did not have any competition and his time was consequently slower than was expected. In the junior high jump, G. Burman established the new figure of 4ft 11 in, while M. Bums added 11 in to the junior long jump record with a leap of 18ft lin. D. B. Clifford, with 18 points in sprints events and 14 points in field events, won the Senior Cup, W. Phillips being the runner-up with 25 points. In the sprints Clifford secured 18 points and Phillips 14. Dreyer was the distance champion with 20 points, and Clifford led in the field events section.
