PIGEON RACING
FLIGHT FROM CHRISTCHURCH The Hamilton Homing Pigeon Club conducted a race on Sunday from Christchurch, an airline of 420 miles. The birds were held over until Sunday, when they were liberated in a north-east wind and encountered unfavourable weather. The first bird to arrive was Mr H. Davies’ B.C.C. 350, which wins the cup donated by Mr P. Petry. Results: H. Davies’ B.C.C. 350 (608yds.), 1; H. Brown’s B.C.H. 417 (597yd5.), 2; W. Aitken’s B.C.H. 370 (596yd5.), 3; H. Brown’s B.C.C. 70 (455yd5.), 4. Next week’s race will be flown from Wanganui.
