OPENING GAMES
HAMILTON CRICKET OLD BOYS WELL PLACED BIG SCORING BY EAST The opening day of the Hamilton senior cricket competition last Saturday brought forth good scoring and th econtinuation of the games tomorrow should be marked by further bright exhibitions. With the fine weather during the last week in favour of excellent ground conditions, the batsmen should have no difficulty in scoring runs, and further big totals are expected. Hamilton will lose to Old Boys on the first innings even if it is not beaten outright. In its initial knock Hamilton could not reach the century, while Old Boys has passed its score with five wickets in hand, and if it can increase the scoring tomorrow should have a chance of forcing a four pointer. Claudelands is in a difficult position with Hamilton East, the latter team having 186 on the board for seven wickets. If East passes the 200 mark, and it should not have difficulty in doing that, Claudelands, which has not batted may have to face a complete loss. Draw for Tomorrow Senior A.—Old Boys v. Hamilton, No. 1 Seddon Park; Claudelands v. Hamilton East, No. 2 Seddon Park. Senior B.—Cambridge A v. Cambridge B, at Cambridge; Old Boys v. Frankton United, No. 3 Seddon Park; High School v. Hamilton East at High School; Hamilton v. Claudelands, No. 4 Seddon Park. Junior: Invicta v. Borough Council, No. 3 Steele Park, Technical v. Baptist, No. 4 Steele Park; High School, a bye.
