MAORI BOY DROWNED
BODY FOUND IN CREEK (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WHANG ARE I, Wednesday William Pu, a six-year-old deaf and dumb Maori boy was drowned in a creek near his home at Whananaki last night. He went fishing, and as he had not returned home at 7 p.m. a search was instituted, his body being discovered among logs and debris in 6ft of water. There were abrasions on the forehead and face, and it is assumed that the boy struck his head on a log when he fell from the bank.
