WIFE LEFT HOME
HUSBAND SEEKS DIVORCE COURT GRANTS DECREE NISI On the grounds of desertion, Wilfred Henry Gillibrand (Mr H. J. McMullin, instructed by Mr J. R. O. Lockhead,,of Putaruru) was granted a decree nisi from Amelia Beatrice Mary Gillibrand (Mr A. G. Ward, instructed by Mr W. J. King) in the Supreme Court, Hamilton, to-day, before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers. Petitioner said he was married in December 1924. There were four children of the marriage but before the last child was bom respondent left her husband from the home at Mokai. near Putaruru. They had been living apart for nine years, respondent having the two youngest Children with her. The first time petitioner learned of his wife’s whereabouts after she had left him was when he received an account for maternity expenses. He then asked her to return but she would not. In 1935. at Whangare! respondent proceeded for a separation order but the application was dismissed. Petitioner said he had contributed regularly to the maintenance of the two children who were with the respondent.
