Condition Still Serious
The condition of Anne Magner, aged seven, daughter of Mr C. A. Magner, of Te Kowhai, who was severely injured in a collision between two cars at Te Rapa on Saturday is still serious. The child was a passenger in her father’s car and received internal injuries. Sale of Butter in Britain The price of butter fixed at 145 s per cwt., provision by the Ministry of Food to meet half tne normal consumption, no indication of mark, grade, or country of origin, and the disappearance of the New Zealand Dairy Sales Division are the chief features of the butter market in Britain, says a London correspondent. All butters are sold at 1455, less 2 per cent, by the Government. The buyers are graded into various classes. The No. 1 class is comprised of firms who were previously large importers. Then come' the wholesalers and retailers. The butter is sold at 145 s to the public, giving the middlemen a margin of 2 per cent.
The Duke of Kent visited the Valley Field colliery, Fife, where an explosion occurred on Saturday with a loss of 35 lives.
