The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, will leave Hamilton for Wellington by the express to-night.

Mr Hugh Thomson, president of the Auckland Importers’ Association, is in Hamilton.

Mr B. McKenzie, for the past nine years assistant-engineer to the Matamata County Council, has assumed the office of engineer to the Otorohanga County filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr Gerald A. Jackson.

The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, who was in Hamilton yesterday, left for Auckland today. Yesterday he addressed a gathering of farmers at the Frankton stock sale, met the executive and members of the South Auckland Division of the New Zealand National Party and received a deputation of carriers. On his journey to Auckland he called at the Ngaruawahia Pa, where he met Princess Te Te Puea Herangi, and also visited Hopu Hopu Camp. He was accompanied by Mr C. E. Williams, his private secretary, and Mr D. W. McClurg, Dominion Secretary of the National Party.
