COUNTRY STOCK SALES
PUTARURU YARDING The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report at their Putaruru stock sale yesterday a medium yarding of fat and store cows, which met ready competition, stores showing no alteration on late rates. Yearling Jersey heifers were in firm demand, a full entry of bulls sold well, while a few pens of dairy cattle remained at late rates. There was a heavy yarding of fat pigs with bidding brisk, values remaining firm. Stores and weaners were penned in exceptionally large numbers, and here again competition was keen at prices fully up to late rates. Quotations:—■ Cattle:—Light fat cows, £6 12s to £7; killable Jersey cows, £5 lls to £6 Is; heavy boner cows, £3 12s to £4 8s; lighter, 80s to £3 Is; light potter bulls, £5 to £6 10s; empty 2 year heifers, £3 6s to £4 ss; fresh conditioned young Jersey cows, £3 8s to £4 3s; 2\ to 3 year store Shorthorn steers, £6 12s to £7; yearling Polled Angus heifers, £2 to £2 ss; yearling Jersey heifer calves, £3 15s to £4 7s 6d; smaller £2 10s to £3 ss; 2 year service Bulls, 10 to 132 gns; others £6 to £7 10s; yearling service bulls £7 to £9 9s; smaller £3 10s to £5; medium springing Jersey heifers £6 10s to £7 ss, smaller £5 to £5 15s; sound Jersey cows £6 10s to £3 ss.
