LORD BLEDISLOE’S OFFER
GOVERNMENT’S APPRECIATION (By Telegraph.—Press A-ssociatlon) WELLINGTON, Friday A former Governor-General of New Zealand, Lord Bledisloe, having offered his country estate, Lydney Park, Gloucester, as a hospital or convalescence home for New Zealand soldiers, the Government' today despatched to the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, the following cablegram:— “Will you please convey to Lord Bledisloe the Government’s warm appreciation of his generous offer of Lydney Park as a hospital or convalescent home for New Zealand soldiers. It is as yet too early to indicate the time when or the extent to which it will be possible to take advantage of Lord Bledisloe’s offer, but the Government wishes to assure him it will avail itself of his generosity as and when circumstances would indicate.”
