FROM HENLEY CONTESTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday Members of the Sydney Rowing Club team which represented Australia in the Grand Challenge Cup race at the Henley Centennial regatta were through passengers by the Monterey. They are accompanied by the singles sculler, H. J. Turner. There were eight teams in the event, five representing English Clubs, but these were completely overshadowed by the visitors, particularly by Harvard University, which won by many lengths. Sydney was beaten in a semi-final by Argonaut (Canada), which lost to Harvard. Turner was beaten in his heat by Verey, of Poland, who lost in the final to J. Burk (U.S.A.).
