Mrs A. R. Brown, Hamilton, is on a visit to Auckland. Mrs Franks, of St. Peter’s School, Cambridge, is visiting Auckland. Mrs F. G. Wooller, Hamilton, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss Clarice Beeche. Hamilton, is spending the week-end in Auckland. * * * * Misses Iris Hinkley and Lorraine Lawrence, of Auckland, are holidaying in Hamilton. Mrs A. A. Edwards has arrived from Blenheim to take up her residence in Hamilton. * * * * Mrs T. A. Burtenshaw and Miss Gail Burtenshaw, Hamilton, left today for a visit to Auckland * * * * Mrs D. Stewart, Kaikohe, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs Hugh Douglas, in Hamilton, has returned home. * * * * Miss Dorothy Clegg, Hamilton, is spending the week-end as the guest of Mrs Seymour Brewis, Morrinsville. Mrs J. H. Hammond and Mrs Noel S. Johnson, Hamilton, will leave on Monday for a visit to Auckland. * * * * Mrs M. Bell, Cambridge, has returned from a trip to England. She was met in Auckland by her daughter, Mrs R. S. Hanna * * * * Mrs S. Haines, who has been spending a few days in Auckland, has returned to Cambridge. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs C. Allen, of Northcote. Mrs E. C. Sare, prior to her departure for Wellington, gave a delightful morning tea party at the Lyceum Club to introduce Mrs A. A. Edwards, of Blenheim, whose husband has been appointed manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton. Those present were Mesdames Hugh Douglas, J. F. Vercoe, D. Robertson, Harold Baker, T. Simpson, Trevena, J. H. Lowe, J. E. Maraane, A. C. St. Paul. * * * * Held unde;- the auspices of the Sunshine League, an enjoyable concert was given in Ward 1 of the Waikato Hospital on Thursday night as follows:—Songs, Mrs C. Wilson and Mrs A. H. Garland: piano-accordion, Miss Tui Molesworth: banjo-mando-lin, Mr J. Ball: ventriloquism, Mr Meyer; sketches, Miss T. Molesworth and Messrs J. Churton and B. Ross. Miss F. Price was the accompanist. * * * * On the eve of the departure from Hamilton of Mr and Mrs W. Burrow, representatives of First Church, Frankton, made them a presentation. The Rev. S. J. Atkins conveyed to Mr and Mrs Burrow the good wishes of the congregation and expressed regret at their departure. Mr Burrow was church secretary for 16 years and an elder for a considerable period. Mr Burrow suitably returned thanks. * * * * A gala community sing, arranged by the Women’s Auxiliary of the Frankton Junction branch of the New Zealand Labour Party to benefit the Maori Hostel fund, was held in Glover’s Hall. The hall was filled to capacity and the programme comprised a splendid Maori entertainment by Mrs Whatu’s party and duets by Rangi, Joseph and Dan Napia. Several enjoyable tap dances were given by Miss Joan Laurenson. Mr Whitehead officiated at the piano.
