£4OO a Week for Film Rights
Katharine Hepburn, who has bought the film rights of Philip Berry’s play, “The Philadelphia Story,” in which she is starring on Broadway, is paying £4OO a week for the retention of those rights. The money is being paid monthly, and when the date of film release is agreed 60 per cent will go to the author and 40 per cent to the Theatre Guild, which is presenting the play.
