REMARKABLE ESCAPE

CYCLIST ALONGSIDE TRAIN (>perlal to Times) NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday Although the rear wheel of his machine was crumpled, Mr L. C. Arnon, farm labourer, had a remarkable escape from injury when his motor-cycle struck a train on the Manutahi Road level crossing, between Hawera and Patea. He was thrown on to the track alongside the line and lay there while the wheels of the train rattled past his head. Although his riding leggings were ripped, he escaped personal injury.
