DONATION OF £llo

ASSISTANCE FOR WIDOWS HUNTLY MINE TRAGEDY A donation of £llO was handed to Mr A. Johnson, president of the Northern Miners’ Union, and Mr P. Hunter, superintendent of Glen Afton Collieries, Limited, yesterday by the Mayor and members of the Newmarket Borough Council. Each of the widows of the men who lost their lives will receive £lO. The visitors were accompanied by the Mayor of Huntly, Mr W. C. E. George. The Mayor of Auckland’s fund to assist the families of the men now stands at £365. A fund inaugurated by the Huntly Borough Council has reached £194 ss, including a donation of £SO from the council.
