STATE OF WICKET

CRITICISM AT MEETING CRICKET ASSOCIATION’S PLANS Strong disapproval of the bad state of the wicket in front of the grandstand at Seddon Park was voiced at the annual meeting of the Waikato Cricket Association last night by Mr A. E. Gibbons. The wicket had been a source of criticism last season and when it was examined by the speaker recently it was found to be badly damaged in places. The chairman of the meeting, Mr C. G. Hunt, said plans were in hand for putting the park in order before the commencement of the season. The Domain Board had detailed two men to work there with the association’s groundsman next week when the wickets and outfield would be attended to. He anticipated better playing conditions for the teams during the coming season.
