EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS

CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETS FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS Further reports on the progress made by the various committees set up to undertake the organisation of the public services of Hamilton in the event of an emergency were presented at a meeting of the Hamilton Central Precautions Committee today. The meeting was held in the Borough Chambers and the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro, presided. Following the consideration of the various reports, which detailed the work already completed, it was decided to further investigate the steps that should be taken. There was a full attendance of chairmen of the various committees as follows:

Messrs C. B. Smith (supply committee), F. W. Luxford (transport), F. Findlay, chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board (medical and public health), T. G. Reynolds (public utilities), C. Clark, chief postmaster (communications), H. M. Hammond (works and water), A. Craig (lire), W. H. Paul (accommodation, billeting, etc), A. E. Manning (publicity and information), A. St. C. Belcher (Finance and records), J. R. low (a member of the borough council’s emergency committee), G. H. Lambert, senior-sergeant of poiice (law and order), W. L. Waddel (town clerk) and E. E. Rex (cnief clerk).
