DARGAVILLE’S FIRST DRAFT A PUBLIC FAREWELL (By Telegraph.—Press Association) DARGAVILLE, Wednesday The first draft of eleven non-com-missioned officers and privates left Dargaville for camp amid a scene of great enthusiasm and the skirl of bagpipes.
They were farewelled by the Mayor (Mr Raymond Gibson), the Hobson county chairman (Mr F. Wordsworth) and the president Of the Returned Soldiers’ Association (Mr A. J. H. Stubbs). They were entertained at morning tea, and each was the recipient of gift wallets from the citizens.
