OBITUARY

MR J. T. COONEY The death occurred yesterday in the Waikato Hospital of Mr John Thomas Cooney, o£ Hamilton, at the age of 47 years. A son of the late Detective J. Cooney, Mr Cooney was born in Dunedin and lived for many years in Thames. While in Hamilton he was manager of the Hamilton branch of the Ridd Milking Machine Company, Limited. Mr Cooney served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Great War, going to Samoa with the Main Body. He was president of the Frankton Bowling Club for four years and was also vice-president of the South Auckland Bowling Centre for a number of terms.

He is survived by his widow and four children.
