STOCK TRADE PERSONALITY

in values during the last three weeks at the central yards, but yesterday the declining interest was made more apparent. Ewes fell away in value more than did wethers and many lines of ewes were cheaper by 3s to 4s per head. Extra prime wethers were quoted from 27s to 32s 6d, against 29s 6d to 34s 6d, but yesterday 30s 6d was usually the limit for the best sheep. As was the case last week, ev/es exceeded wethers in numbers, but this fact was even more noticeable yesterday. Hoggets were penned in considerably fewer numbers. A full bench of buyers maintained good competition for an average penning of fat pigs, which were usually firm with occasional pens proving a shade cheaper. Baconers were quoted from 66s to 82s and porkers from 45s to 655. Store pigs met with the most enthusiastic sale, experienced this year, slips selling from 31s to 38s in comparison with 30s to 35s last week, and weaners from 10s to 33s against 10s to 30s.
