Land Reclamation
Of the £700,000 set aside for land reclamation under the British Government’s plough ing-up policy, £300,000 had been allocated for approved acreage at the middle of July last. The Minister of Agriculture (Sir R. Dorman-Smith) reports strong co-operation between county agricultural advisers, the agricultural scientists, and fertility experts at the Ministry of Agriculture. Big endeavours are to be made in all parts of England and Wales to break up matted pastures and areas which have become bracken-ridden.
